Lived experience stories to encourage change

PROJECT: RESPECT - UNDERSTANDING FINANCIAL ABUSE

CLIENT: 1800RESPECT

1800RESPECT asked Venn to create a factual series that would help audiences better understand Financial Abuse.

Through the telling of three brave women’s lived experience stories, audiences learn about what Financial Abuse looks like, how it feels and what the warning signs are. For those that identify with their experiences, the films also explain what actions can be taken if you, or someone you know, is experiencing Financial Absuse.

While these films may seem simple, prior to production we conducted stakeholder interviews with experts, as well as the participants, so we could carefully craft a narrative that not only honoured our participants stories, but carefully integrated the key strategic messages we had identified in a way that would maximise the learning outcomes of audiences.

In addition to the video series, we also supported 1800RESPECT with the launch of the series, including their social campaign. You can watch the full series below.

Here is what Libbi Cunnington, the National Project Manager, had to say about working with Venn.

We loved working with Jono and the Venn crew. They showed sensitivity and creativity in helping us convey the advocate’s experience of financial abuse in such a powerful way. We at 1800RESPECT are really proud of what was created.”

- Libbi Cunnington, 1800RESPECT
