Bringing a business sustainability story to life

Project: Specified Responsibly

Client: ForestOne Australia

ForestOne engaged Venn to engage their people, customers and the wider industry about why ForestOne is investing big in sustainability.

The master film we created is around 7 minutes. The goal with this film was to create a piece that would show the extent of ForestOne’s sustainability commitment and values for the audience that wanted to learn more: their people and their key stakeholders. We also create a series of supporting videos to support their marketing and communication objectives.

Following this series, Jonathon Dutton was engaged to conduct a cultural review to help ForestOne’s leadership team understand what’s impacting the execution of their new strategic direction from a cultural perspective. This led to a series of recommendations to guide future decision making and innovation opportunities.

Below is what their Marketing Manager, Austin Chesterfield, as well as their Managing Director, Ian Fankhanel, had to say about working with Venn and Jonathon on these two projects.

“In late 2021, I engaged Venn to tell our company story through a series of videos showcasing our commitment to sustainably.  The expertise Venn brought to the project exceeded all expectations, as did the project outcomes.  Since that time, we have engaged Jonathon to conduct a 360 review of our business to help us align our culture with ForestOne’s new strategic direction.”

— Austin Chesterfield, Marketing Manager

“Following the merger of Gunnersen, Australian Forest Products, Crown Timber and ForestOne International, we became ForestOne in 2019 and underwent a major transformation. In 2022 we engaged Jonathon to help us understand the impact this change has had on our people and our culture and to help us tell our story. Jonathon helped us get real clarity in terms of our company narrative and our cultural narrative. He helped us to not only express it, but to understand how we can learn from it, live it and create a stronger culture. Our goal is to be a values-led sustainability champion of the building industry and an employer of choice, and Jonathon and Venn’s work has certainly helped us make this a reality”.
